Belize
The small country is located on the east coast of Central America, next to the Caribbean Sea. It borders Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the west. The country is the only English-speaking state in Central America.
Half of the tropical country is occupied by a swampy plain surrounding the Caribbean coast, which travels into a hilly area covered with primeval forests.
Belize is famous for the world’s second longest continuous coral reef, extensive cave network, historic Mayan ruins and diverse underwater ecosystem.
Blue Hole
Certified divers won’t want to miss the famous Blue Hole – a perfectly circular underwater sinkhole within the Lighthouse Reef Atoll, which you can see with a skipper or rendezvous diving. You’ll find a wealth of coral formations, marine life and deep caves filled with stalactites.
Ambergris Caye
It is the largest island in Belize, and remains unspoiled and low-key despite being one of the most popular islands. You can spend a morning fishing on the reef and happily cook your catch for dinner.
Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha
One of the first things on your to do list in Belize should be venturing ashore and walking among ancient stone structures built by the Mayans, which date back to around 800-900 BC. Altun Ha is located just 30 miles north of Belize City.
Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary
It is known as the world’s first jaguar sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to exotic flora and fauna, as well as waterfalls for a refreshing swim.
Weather:
The best time to visit Belize is from late November to April, during the dry season. Warm temperatures, sunny skies and little rainfalls can be experienced this time of the year.
The temperatures remain fairly consistent year-round with an average range from 23 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius, ideal for a yacht tour in Belize.
Wind:
A Belize vacation offers balmy easterly trade winds year-round averaging between 15 and 22 knots that produce excellent cruising conditions. Calm waters are the norm while sailing inside the barrier reef.
Belize trade winds blow along the coastal cays consistently most of the year.
General:
The language spoken in Belize is English, in some areas Belizean Creole.
A valid passport is required for entry into Belize, with an expiration date no earlier than three months after your return date.

The currency in Belize is the Belize Dollar (BZD).

Add an international package to your cell phone account with your provider so you can hotspot. There is internet access in some cafes and Wi-Fi hotspots, but you may need to pay.
